Effective Minute Taking and Meetings

Course Overview

Meetings are an integral part of every organization hence the need to place priority on their effectiveness and the minute-taker. This training programme will provide participants with the skills and tools needed to ensure that effective meetings are convened and the objectives and purposes for convening the meetings are achieved. Minute-taking is sometimes seen by many minute-takers as arduous and unappreciated by directors and committee members.
Participants will gain a better understanding of the functions and role of the minute- taker and enable them acquire/sharpen the skills needed to produce accurate minutes. Minute- taking has been described by many as an ‘art’. Convening an effective meeting has been described by many as more than mere administrative work. Ineffective meetings lead to uninformative decisions and minimum participation by the attendees. The ‘myths’ associated with minute-taking and effective meetings will be unravelled at this training programme.
